Offgrid Minds is designed around local reasoning, the knowledge you install, maps you prepare, and personal context you choose to keep on your device. The goal is relevance in your world—not the largest possible model with no understanding of your equipment, region, or project.

The website shows the product direction with a working browser demo, illustrative maps, and concept previews for packs, creators, and future hardware. The phone app is in active development. Public store downloads and several ecosystem features are not live yet. The site is intentionally honest about what is available now.

That is the core direction. Installed Expert Packs, saved maps, personal memory, and on-device reasoning are designed to keep working after you prepare the device while connected. Some tasks—such as downloading a new pack, refreshing a weather snapshot, or installing an update—require connectivity first.

No. Weather on the Maps page is shown as a manually downloaded snapshot with a visible timestamp. It is useful for planning, not a live forecast. The product does not claim to provide real-time weather without a connection.

GPS positioning can work without cellular bars when your device has a usable GPS signal and an installed map. Cellular service is not required for viewing a prepared map or seeing your position on it.

An Expert Pack is a structured bundle of specialized knowledge—manuals, procedures, diagrams, references, maps, and context—installed locally for a specific domain. It helps the system answer with source-aware specificity instead of generic guesses.

The ecosystem is designed to support official first-party packs, professional and regional packs from trusted creators, and personal packs made from your own manuals, notes, and project material. Not every pack type is available at launch.

That is part of the product direction. Personal knowledge can sit beside official packs so the system can use the exact references that matter to you, while keeping that material under your control on the device.

Personal memory is the context you choose to let the product remember—projects, equipment, preferences, terminology, and facts you explicitly save. It is designed to stay on your device and make the assistant more useful over time without turning you into a company-owned profile.

The product direction is local-first intelligence with user-owned context. The website early-access form only collects what you submit there. It does not attach app memory, local product data, or private device content to a signup.

No. The /demo page is a scripted browser simulation of the app experience. Its controls, scenarios, and answers work in the browser, but it does not run the production on-device model and does not access your microphone, camera, location, or files.
